trout.jpgFishing - The Lodgings has its very own private trout loch 'Mossroddich' which is situated on the outskirts of the village and is available to visitors to the cottage. It is a 6 acre hill loch stocked regularly with both Brown and Rainbow trout and has stunning views over the local countryside.

Now we are also pleased to advise that we have the Galloway Red Kite Trail which is proving to be extremely popular with many visitors were these fantastic birds can be seen throughout the area plus at close quarters at the feed station at Laurieston.

GolfScotland is generally known as the home of golf and Southern Scotland offers some challenging courses. With a mixture of fun and serious courses, coastal winds can add to the demands of the game.


Game ShootingScotland and in particular Galloway is renowned for its country sports and many shooters visit the area throughout the season. Pheasant and Partridge shooting as well as duck and geese and the abundance of rabbits make this a popular area from visitors from all over the world.


Deer Stalking – Deer are in abundance in Galloway and this attracts visitors from home and abroad.
